Where are you located?

St. John's is located at the corner of 68th St. & Forest Home Avenue in Milwaukee (6802 W. Forest Home Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53220). Enter the parking lot off of Forest Home Ave. and enter the church through door #5.

Who is worship for?

Following the lead of our Savior, you are welcome at St. John's no matter what your language, ethnicity, or background.

We are a child-friendly church as well, so bring the whole family. In fact, we encourage families - including infants and young children - to worship together. Children's activity bags are available for young worshipers in the back of the sanctuary. Parents may take small children into the Parents Room (located through the church library) or into the Welcome Center and can follow the worship service on the TV monitor. Changing tables are available in the Parents Room and in the women's and men’s restrooms.

What are your worship services like?

Since we are a church from the Lutheran tradition, our worship follows an order, also called the liturgy. Worshipers follow along with the liturgy using the printed service booklet or our screens. Through the liturgy, the worshiper is taken on a journey from the confession of sins to the announcement of God's forgiveness; from receiving the benefits of Jesus' saving work to praising him through song; from making requests through prayer to receiving God's blessing. The liturgy is meant to proclaim God's grace to God's people every week so that we might serve our neighbor in love.

St. John's celebrates a rich musical history, but we also look to more modern styles of music as well. We offer a wide variety of music styles, from choir singing and handbells, to hymn singing on the organ, to modern Christian music.  We encourage congregational singing, but it is not required. No matter what the music style is, it is done with God's gifts and to his glory.

At St. John's, we celebrate Holy Communion at almost all of our services.  Jesus comes to us with his body and blood, along with the bread and wine, to offer us the forgiveness of sins and assure us of the gift of his grace: eternal life in heaven. We practice member communion, so if you are a visitor, we ask that you speak with a pastor before partaking in Holy Communion.

Do I need to give an offering?

Members of St. John’s give offerings to support the Lord’s work in our community and around the world. Visitors are welcome but not obligated to give an offering. We ask everyone to fill out a Connect Card found in the pew and place it in the offering plate as it passes by.

What should I wear?

We welcome those who dress more formally and those who prefer casual clothing. What you wear isn’t nearly as important as you being here…so come as you are!

When are your services?

We offer worship services on Sundays at 8:15 & 10:45 a.m. and on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. The Sunday services are also streamed online here.
